How it works
Get Cash Fast For Your Goods!
To pawn means to borrow money secured against a tangible asset.
You must be over the age of 18 to pawn an item. What follows is a step by step guide to pawning an item. Not every situation is the same, however, so if this is the case please feel free to contact us and one of the team can easily walk you through the process
Know what you are pawning including things like brand, model number, age and condition. If you don’t know what it is neither will we.
Collect all pieces. Items missing chargers, remotes or any parts can heavily reduce the amount you can borrow or even exclude the item completely.
Know how much you want to borrow. Try to think of how much you need rather than how much you want, it is much easier to pay back $50 than $100.
Unfortunately there are some products we can’t accept, things such as white goods and furniture for example. If you call us first and provide the information from Step 1 we can save you a disappointing journey.
Come on Down
Bring your item and yourself into the shop.
Have your identification ready. ID must include the following:
Date of Birth
Must be government issue (no, Leagues club cards are not good enough)
Our staff will confirm how much you can borrow against your item.
About 5 to 10 minutes and the details of you and the item are entered into the system and the paperwork created. The paperwork will be explained, you sign and receive your money.
Redeem or extend
Pay back the loan plus interest in full within 3 months and you are all done.
Should you require longer than 3 months a payment of 1 month’s interest will extend the loan by 1 month.
Loans at Horngate are for a maximum of 3 months (there is no minimum time and extensions can be arranged) and are charged at 30% of the loan value each month. During this time, your items are stored securely.
